New at LabourWare

       January 2006, Nunavut Employees Union chooses LabourWare

The Nunavut Employees Union, a component of the Public Service Alliance has chosen to go with GrievanceWare to manage it's grievances.  They were impressed by the power and ease of use of the application.  The Nunavut Employees Union represents more than three thousand northern workers.

       December 2005, LabourWare adds Member Reports to Grievanceware

Building on our Web Based platform, LabourWare was pleased to add Member Reports to it's Grievanceware application.  All current and future clients will benefit from this new feature, which allows for the creation of custom member reports.  These custom reports can be downloaded and then used to create merge files for mailings to the membership. 

In addition to the Member Reports, we have also added three new Grievance reports, by Location, Department or Supervisor.  These reports were suggested by current clients, and in keeping with our promise to continually upgrade and improve the application, we have added them at no additional cost to any of our clients.

       November 2005, CUPE Local 3338 chooses GrievanceWare

CUPE Local 3338, from Simon Fraser University in Burnaby BC., has chosen to go with GrievanceWare.  They were impressed with the feature set of the software, but they were intrigued at the possibility of a software model that would continually grow with features as suggested by the user base.  The Web based model allows LabourWare to add features centrally - while giving users access remotely.  This model replicates how Unions, by working together are stronger than just one.

        October 2005, LabourWare announces two more signings

LabourWare is pleased to announce that CUPE Locals 3550 and CUPE 1404  have chosen to use GrievanceWare.  Once again ease of use and implementation were the main criteria.  The ability of our Collective Agreement Parser to give them access to their Collective Agreement  down to the Article and Clause, was also a consideration

        September 2005, CUPE 4800 chooses GrievanceWare

CUPE 4800, representing hospital workers in Hamilton, Ontario, chose to go with GrievanceWare to manage their grievances.  With a growing number of grievances and several locations, Local 4800 needed a system that could be accessed from anywhere.  LabourWare with it's GrievanceWare product provide a fully web based solution to managing grievances from anywhere you can access the internet.

        September 2005, CUPE 786 chooses GrievanceWare

CUPE 786, St. Josephs Hospital in Hamilton, Ontario, chose to go with GrievanceWare to manage their grievances.  They were impressed by the ease of implementation.  They were looking for ease of data entry, simple reports, and a company that would be there to ease the transition from a paper based system to the new automated system provided by LabourWare.

        June 2005, BCFMWU choose GrievanceWare

The BC Ferry and Marine Workers Union already had a grievance management system for one of our competitors.  When we demonstrated the ease and power of our system they were impressed.  we provided them with a Demo login so that they could try it for themselves.  After a couple of weeks they were sold - GrievanceWare was much easier to put data in and most importantly, to get meaningful reports out.  Training was scheduled for the end of August, and BCFMWU went fully online in early September.

        April 2005, CUPE Ontario Division chooses LabourWare

CUPE Ontario Division choose LabourWare to solve it's membership database woes.  The challenge was to retain data which was in a now obsolete database format, while at the same time adding access and functionality to a new state of the art web based Membership Database system.  The decision to go with LabourWare was announced at the Division convention held in Niagara Falls in May.

LabourWare has successfully migrated the data to the new system by mid August, and continues to work with the Ontario Division, providing new PCs, new servers and Groupware software.

LabourWare will also be providing ongoing support to the Division.

        March 9th, 2005, Members of CUPE Local 905 vote for GrievanceWare

CUPE Local 905 held a members meeting on Wednesday, March 9th.  On the agenda was a vote on whether to implement GrievanceWare.  The Executive had approved the LabourWare grievance management system, and now it was time for the members to speak.

The vote was held, and LabourWare was awarded a contract to implement GrievanceWare.  CUPE Local 905 is a large and diverse local, with 23 separate bargaining units within several municipalities.  They were impressed with systems ability to handle multiple Employers, and Contracts within Employers, all from a central web based database.

        March 8th, 2005, CUPE 417 to implement GrievanceWare

CUPE 417, the municipal workers, and library workers of Red Deer, also representing the towns of Didsbury and Three Hills Alberta have approved the implementation of  GrievanceWare - grievance management system, at their monthly Executive and members meeting  yesterday March 7th.

        February 25th, 2005, LabourWare launches at CUPE Ontario
          Leadership Conference,

LabourWare made itself known to hundreds of CUPE activists at the CUPE Ontario Leadership Conference.  Many were please to see Peter Douglas was part of our team, and much interest was generated.  We look forward to following up with all of you that expressed interest.

        February 1st, 2005, LabourWare welcomes Peter Douglas to our team,

Peter retired  in January, 2005 as Ontario Regional Director after over 30 years on CUPE staff. Starting out in the Hamilton Area Office and also spending time in the CUPE Airline Division, the Peel Area Office in Mississauga and the Ontario Regional Office, Peter developed a wide exposure to the different aspects of work in the labour movement. He also participated in numerous rounds of negotiations (including central hospital bargaining), presented over 150 arbitration cases and also spent a term as President of the Hamilton Labour Council.

This broad based labour experience, along with Peter's love for the labour movement will help direct LabourWare in its' endeavours.

     Jan. 21, 2005 CUPE Local 4000 Rolls Out GrievanceWare

CUPE Local 4000, the Ottawa Hospital Union officially launched it's implementation if GrievanceWare with a one day training session.  Users were amazed at how easy it was to enter grievances in this new system.  They were quickly able to generate reports which shed a new light on the grievance activity within their local.  Grievances by article and clause, by category, by unit, were all a few clicks away.
